The recent Xbox Partner Preview offered a first look at an exciting new project from independent developer Vivix: Artificial Detective. This action-adventure game tasks players with embodying a clever robot investigator on a mission to uncover why humanity vanished, leaving behind only one human child.
Developed by a team of veterans who have contributed to titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Control, Dead Space, and even Netflix’s animated series Love, Death & Robots, Artificial Detective is set in a futuristic metropolis called Conglomerate North. The city’s design draws heavy inspiration from the Art Deco aesthetics of the 1930s.
Played from a third-person perspective, the game follows an unlikely trio: the robot detective, a human child serving as their acolyte, and an ingenious robotic dog. Together, they journey through this sprawling metropolis, searching for answers, overcoming threats, and striving to solve the greatest mystery currently facing both the city and the planet.
Scheduled for release in 2027, Artificial Detective will be available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud.
