Following the Monte-Carlo Masters, where Jannik Sinner dethroned Carlos Alcaraz, many ATP players are splitting their efforts across the clay-court season. Some are heading to Spain for the Barcelona Open (Conde de Godó), while others are competing in Germany at the BMW Open in Munich, both ATP 500 events leading up to the Mutua Madrid Open next week.
Among the top 10 players, Alexander Zverev (World No. 3), Ben Shelton (World No. 6), and Alexander Bublik (World No. 11) have chosen Munich. In contrast, Carlos Alcaraz (World No. 2), Alex de Minaur (World No. 7), and Lorenzo Musetti (World No. 9) have opted for Barcelona. Jannik Sinner will be taking a rest this week, and Novak Djokovic is not expected to return until Madrid next week.
Here are the eight seeded players for the Barcelona Open, with Arthur Fils replacing Valentin Vacherot. Their world rankings are indicated in parentheses. Please note that the seeding order may not perfectly reflect the current rankings, as the seedings were finalized on April 6th:

- Alex de Minaur (7)
- Karen Khachanov (14)
- Andrey Rublev (15)
- Cameron Norrie (24)
