Bayern Munich Surpasses Real Madrid in UEFA Club Coefficient

Following their recent Champions League quarter-final victory over Real Madrid, Bayern Munich has now taken the top spot in the UEFA club coefficient rankings based on the last five years of performance. The Bavarian club now boasts 146,500 points, edging out Real Madrid, which holds 144,500 points.

This UEFA coefficient is calculated by aggregating clubs’ results over the past five seasons, meaning it currently includes data from the 2021/22 season onwards. While Real Madrid has secured two Champions League titles during this period (in the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons) and Bayern has not won the trophy since the 2019/20 season, Bayern Munich has consistently reached at least the Champions League quarter-finals every season since then. Their impressive consistency includes semi-final appearances in the 2023/24 and the current 2025/26 seasons.

In the five-year coefficient standings, Liverpool ranks third with 130,000 points, followed by Inter Milan in fourth place with 127,000 points. Paris Saint-Germain is fifth (126,500 points), with Manchester City in sixth (125,500 points). Arsenal and Barcelona share seventh and eighth place, both with 113,250 points. Bayer Leverkusen is ninth at 105,000 points, and Atlético Madrid rounds out the top ten with 103,750 points.

Bayern Munich is scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain in their upcoming matches on April 28th and May 6th. The winner of this tie will proceed to face either Arsenal or Atlético Madrid in the Champions League final.
