Bronny and LeBron James Achieve First Father-Son Assist in NBA History

The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 119-103 victory over the Golden State Warriors in a game with little playoff seeding implications, as both teams had already clinched spots. The Warriors secured the tenth seed in the Western Conference, while the Lakers’ position remained fluid, potentially ranging from third to fifth.

With Luka Doncic sidelined due to a lengthy injury, LeBron James returned to the lineup. Coach JJ Redick included his son, Bronny James, who typically plays in the G-League, in the rotation. While LeBron and Bronny had already made history as the first father-son duo to play on the same NBA team, Thursday’s game was especially memorable. The pivotal moment came when Bronny assisted LeBron, marking the first assist from a son to a father in NBA history.

The initial assist from father to son had occurred the previous month during a game against the Brooklyn Nets. In Thursday’s matchup, Bronny contributed 10 points and 3 assists, while LeBron recorded 26 points and 11 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers have two remaining regular-season games: one tonight against the Phoenix Suns and another on Sunday against the Utah Jazz.
