Chiwetel Ejiofor Enters Infinite Horror in A24’s ‘Backrooms’ Film

A24’s commitment to original and distinctive projects remains a cornerstone of its appeal. Following Undertone, the studio is preparing another intriguing horror experience with Backrooms.

A full trailer for Backrooms has recently been unveiled, offering a glimpse into its unsettling premise. The film follows a man who, while exploring the basement of a furniture store, discovers a door leading to a seemingly infinite labyrinth of rooms and corridors. The central mystery revolves around the reason for this alternate reality and the nature of the latent threat it holds, as hinted in the trailer.

This project is directed by Kane Parsons, who originally conceived the “The Backrooms” concept for his YouTube channel before A24 provided the resources to bring it to the big screen. The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor in the lead role, alongside Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, and Lukita Maxwell.

The release is scheduled for May 29th.
