Upon its theatrical release earlier this year, the latest action film starring Chris Hemsworth did not achieve significant box office success, grossing just over $70 million during its run. This figure was particularly disappointing given its reported budget of $90 million. Consequently, it’s no surprise that Amazon MGM Studios is eager to make the film widely available as soon as possible.
This announcement comes as it’s been confirmed that ‘Crime 101’ will debut on Prime Video starting this Wednesday, April 1st. And no, this is not an early April Fool’s joke.
Regarding the plot of ‘Crime 101,’ the film’s synopsis is provided below. This star-studded production also features Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte alongside Chris Hemsworth.
Set against the sun-drenched backdrop of Los Angeles, ‘Crime 101’ follows an elusive jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose string of heists along Highway 101 has baffled the police. As he plans the score of a lifetime, his path intersects with a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who is herself at a crossroads. A relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo), convinced he’s identified a pattern, closes in, raising the stakes even higher. As the heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted blurs, forcing all three to make life-altering choices – and realize there’s no turning back.
