DC Unveils Free Comic Book for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

May is shaping up to be a notable month for Batman enthusiasts. TT Games’ upcoming Lego adventure is set to feature the Caped Crusader in his most ambitious project yet: Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. While initially anticipated earlier, the game’s launch has been adjusted to May 22nd.

In conjunction with the game’s release, Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, DC, and The Lego Group have announced a free official comic book. This comic will be distributed on Free Comic Book Day, May 2nd.

The short story chronicles Batman’s return to Gotham City following a period of absence. It depicts his encounters with various DC characters, all infused with trademark Lego humor and numerous references.

Titled The Lego Batman Returns, the comic’s synopsis reveals it follows a day in the life of Lego Batman as he re-enters Gotham City after a break. He meets a diverse cast of familiar DC characters, with the narrative celebrating the Dark Knight’s media history through references to past films, TV series, and comics, all blended with classic Lego comedic flair.

Ivan Cohen, known for his work on Beware the Batman, penned the comic, while Paul Lee, from Batman: Under the Hood, provided the artwork.
