Donald Glover: “I Really Think Something Is Going to Happen Soon with the Community Movie”

In the beloved television series Community, the character Abed Nadir famously proclaimed that the show he was participating in would endure for “six seasons and a movie.” It appears Abed’s somewhat prophetic declaration is on its way to becoming a reality. The acclaimed series did indeed complete its six-season run, and a follow-up film has been officially in the pipeline for some time.

Despite the excitement, news regarding the movie has been sparse, and the project has encountered numerous delays, even with the entire principal cast confirming their readiness to return. However, Donald Glover, who is arguably one of the busiest members of the ensemble (perhaps rivaled only by Alison Brie), recently provided an encouraging update via Entertainment Tonight, suggesting that tangible progress is finally underway:

“We’re working on it right now. I know everyone’s been saying that for a long time, but I swear, I’m not lying about this. I really think something is happening soon.”

Glover also indicated that the cast frequently discusses the project, noting a high level of communication surrounding it at present. While this offers a hopeful sign, fans will still need to maintain their patience as they await further concrete announcements for the highly anticipated Community film.
