As this year’s BAFTA Games Awards ceremony, scheduled for April 17th at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, rapidly approaches, attention is already turning to the future with a significant announcement regarding the subsequent edition.
Following the reveal of nominations and categories for the imminent event – a topic previously explored in detail – the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has confirmed who will host the prestigious 2026 gala.
For the 2026 show, Elz The Witch, an influencer renowned for her broad global audience and experience working with established broadcasters, has been selected for the role. She will take over from comedian Phil Wang, who hosted the 2025 iteration of the awards ceremony.
Expressing her excitement about this new responsibility, Elz highlighted her personal history with video games, describing the opportunity as a “dream come true.”
“I’m more than excited to be hosting this year’s BAFTA Games Awards. Gaming has been a part of my life since I first picked up a controller at eight years old, and to now stand on this stage honouring the people creating that magic is a dream come true. This industry is all about creativity, community, and pushing boundaries, things I strive for every day in my own work. I can’t wait to celebrate the incredible nominees and share this unforgettable night with players worldwide.”
