FC Barcelona is reportedly willing to offload Ferran Torres to strengthen its attacking lineup for next season. With Lamine Yamal and Raphinha considered undisputed starters, the Catalan club aims to make Marcus Rashford’s loan from Manchester United permanent for €30 million, and to extend Robert Lewandowski’s contract by an additional year. Lewandowski’s current deal expires in June, and he has received offers, including from MLS teams.
The top target for Barça right now is Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, who reportedly seeks to leave Atlético Madrid next summer. Given the high costs associated with these potential transfers, the club is prepared to entertain offers for Ferran Torres. The Spanish international, under contract until 2027, presents an opportunity to generate funds this summer, which would be crucial for financing future squad enhancements.
The ideal scenario envisioned by Barcelona would see Álvarez as the starting striker next season, with Lewandowski providing backup, significantly reducing Torres’s playing time.
Ferran Torres, a product of Valencia’s academy, joined Barcelona in 2022 from Manchester City. The 26-year-old has scored 12 La Liga goals this season, making him Barcelona’s second-highest scorer behind Lamine Yamal (14 goals). While he has tallied 16 goals across all competitions this season, only three of those have come in 2024, and he has not scored since January 31st.
