Jack Black Eyes Yakuza/Like a Dragon Movie Role

Jack Black, despite already being a prominent figure in a major video game film franchise, is keen on exploring other adaptations. Having previously expressed interest in a Red Dead Redemption 2 movie, he has now set his sights on the Yakuza or Like a Dragon series for a potential film role.

Black openly stated his desire for a part, humorously questioning if there would be a suitable role for “a hefty American” like himself, but directly appealed to Sega to “give him a jingle.”

During a press event, he also lightheartedly cautioned his co-star, Donald Glover, about discussing Sega before their upcoming film’s debut. While a ‘Like a Dragon’ adaptation did premiere in 2024, it garnered mixed reviews and largely fell short of fan expectations for a live-action rendition. Nevertheless, given the enduring popularity and critical acclaim of the games, the possibility of another, more successful adaptation in the future remains strong.
