‘Ketamine Queen’ Sentenced to 15 Years for Matthew Perry’s Death

Jasveen Sangha, widely known as the ‘Ketamine Queen,’ was sentenced on Wednesday to 15 years in prison. The conviction stems from her role in supplying actor Matthew Perry with a lethal dose of ketamine, which ultimately led to his passing in October 2023. Sangha had previously pleaded guilty last year, becoming the fifth individual to admit responsibility in the high-profile case.

Federal prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence, citing the “considerable scope” of Sangha’s illicit drug operations and her “callous response” to the fatalities she contributed to. The 42-year-old admitted to distributing approximately fifty vials of ketamine to Perry. Furthermore, she had also sold the drug to Cody McLaury, who died in 2019. Disturbingly, her drug trafficking activities persisted even after she became aware of these tragic deaths.

Authorities indicted five individuals in connection with the case, including two medical doctors, an assistant, and an acquaintance. However, the court concluded that only Sangha was directly responsible for providing the fatal doses. Prosecutors underscored her privileged background, arguing that her motivations were driven by “greed, glamour, and access.”

During the sentencing, Sangha made a stark confession: “These were not mistakes. These were horrific decisions.” Matthew Perry’s stepfather shared an emotional reflection on the void left by the beloved actor, stating, “There was a spark in that man I’ve never seen anywhere else […] He should have done another act.”
