Konami Elevates Employee Salaries for Fifth Consecutive Year

Konami has made a significant resurgence in recent times, re-entering the video game world with notable success by delivering a collection of exceptional titles, including remakes of some of its most acclaimed projects. This renewed effort appears to be just the beginning of Konami’s strategic plans, as the Japanese company continues to invest in and demonstrate its commitment to the gaming sector by rewarding its staff and establishing improved compensation for both current and potential employees.

For the fifth consecutive year, Konami has reportedly increased the base salary of its employees, raising their monthly pay by ¥5,000 (approximately £300 annually). It’s important to note that this figure pertains specifically to the foundational starting wage.

Furthermore, the starting salary for university graduates joining Konami has seen a substantial improvement, surging from ¥240,000 to ¥310,000 per month – an increase of nearly 30%.

Konami commented on this decision, stating, “This will enable us to offer competitive compensation to new recruits and cultivate an environment where talented employees can thrive with a sense of satisfaction in their work.”

Considering Konami has several highly anticipated projects slated for 2026, such as Darwin’s Paradox, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, all indications suggest that a sixth year of salary increases could well be on the horizon.
