LeBron James and Kevin Durant Set New NBA Records, Surpassing Legends

The NBA witnessed a historic night from Saturday to Sunday, as both LeBron James and Kevin Durant achieved significant personal milestones. In the Los Angeles Lakers’ 105-104 victory over the Orlando Magic—their ninth consecutive win—LeBron James played his 1,612th regular-season NBA game. This achievement allowed him to surpass Robert Parish for the most regular-season games played in NBA history.

This new distinction further extends LeBron James’ already impressive list of all-time records. His accolades include the most career points, most seasons played, most minutes played, most All-NBA selections, most NBA All-Star selections, most field goals made and attempted, most playoff games, most playoff points, and even the highest career earnings.

Kevin Durant Overtakes Michael Jordan in All-Time Scoring

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant also made history by surpassing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list. In the Houston Rockets’ 123-122 win against the Miami Heat, Durant officially became the fifth-highest scorer in NBA history. The 37-year-old scored 27 points in the game, bringing his career total to 32,294 points, just two points more than Jordan’s career tally.

Durant is now within reach of Kobe Bryant’s record (33,643 points). Further ahead on the all-time scoring list are Karl Malone (36,928), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), and LeBron James (43,241).
