Prime Video continues to bolster its comedy film offerings, consistently adding a wide array of original titles to its streaming service. This April, a new entry, “Balls Up,” promises to deliver an outrageously silly cinematic experience starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser.
The film’s title “Balls Up” cleverly refers to both the innovative new “full-coverage condom” product that two marketing executives are trying to launch, and the monumental blunders they find themselves entangled in.
During a trip to Brazil to attend the World Cup final, marketing duo Brad (Wahlberg) and Elijah (Hauser) inadvertently sabotage a crucial penalty kick, crushing Brazil’s championship hopes. This unfortunate incident leads to them being hunted by furious fans and subsequently entangled in a drug network. Adding to their torment, Sacha Baron Cohen makes a quirky appearance in an eccentric role.
The official synopsis for “Balls Up” describes it as a wild comedy where marketing executives Brad (Mark Wahlberg) and Elijah (Paul Walter Hauser) dive headfirst into a daring sponsorship of full-coverage condoms during the football World Cup. After their drunken celebration in Brazil sparks a global scandal, they must outrun enraged fans, criminals, and power-hungry officials to save their careers and make it home alive.
“Balls Up” is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on April 15th.
