Mortal Kombat 1 Sells 8 Million Units

Mortal Kombat 1 might not have launched with the same grand fanfare as some other entries in the series, but this hasn’t deterred it from becoming a respectable commercial success for NetherRealm, particularly in the years following its release.

Approximately two and a half years after its debut on PC and consoles, Mortal Kombat 1 has successfully surpassed the eight million units sold milestone, underscoring the enduring appeal of the fighting game franchise.

This represents a significant increase from the previous sales update, which in August 2025 confirmed 6.2 million units sold. This means the title moved an additional 1.8 million copies within eight months, which is quite impressive for a game nearing its third anniversary.
