After a considerable period without a new Nier game announcement, fans were particularly susceptible to a tease that promised an exciting new title. The official Nier social media page announced the reveal of a ‘Nier Cosmic Horror’ game, a concept that, upon closer inspection, seemed quite outlandish. Nevertheless, it managed to ignite false hope among many.
The Nier page later clarified that the announcement was indeed an April Fool’s joke, acknowledging that it had ’caused quite a stir’ within the fanbase.
