Pac-Man and Two NES Classics Arrive on Nintendo Switch Online

While rumors regarding other potential additions have been circulating, the confirmed news today is that Nintendo has expanded the NES catalog for Nintendo Switch Online. Three classic titles are making their debut on the subscription service, and at least one of them is set to bring a wave of nostalgia to seasoned gamers around the globe who have access to the platform.

We’re referring, of course, to the original Pac-Man, which joins NSO alongside Mendel Palace and The Tower of Druaga. We probably don’t need to introduce you to Pac-Man, one of the most significant games in the history of media. However, its two companions for today’s release might warrant a closer look.

Mendel Palace is an isometric action-puzzle game developed by Game Freak and helmed by—prepare for this—none other than Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri himself. Players navigate through various rooms, pushing and pulling floor tiles to eliminate enemies.

The Tower of Druaga (Namco, 1984) was often described as an action RPG. However, it more closely resembles the modern definition of a ‘dungeon crawler,’ challenging players to conquer numerous levels within a formidable castle by defeating enemies and solving puzzles to liberate a captive princess.

You can now enjoy these three timeless classics at no additional charge if you are subscribed to any tier of Nintendo Switch Online. Will you be diving into these retro gems today?
