Peni Parker Joins the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Team

Before the critically acclaimed film *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse*, Peni Parker was a relatively obscure Spider-person variant, largely known only within comic book enthusiast circles. However, her memorable appearance in the movie propelled her to widespread popularity, a factor that undoubtedly contributed to her inclusion in the upcoming game, *Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls*.

A recent update on the PlayStation Blog officially confirmed Peni Parker as one of the playable fighters. She will be joining a formidable group known as the “Amazing Guardians,” alongside Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Ms. Marvel, and Star-Lord. This newly revealed team is set to clash with the previously announced “Unbreakable X-Men.”

Details about Peni’s gameplay reveal that “She pilots SP//dr, a powerful mech suit created by her father, and fights as a Spider-hero from a parallel universe. In *Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls*, Peni brings SP//dr into combat, utilizing a wide range of unique gadgets and tools to improvise strategies on the fly.”

Another interesting aspect highlighted is the character’s localization; Peni will feature dual voice acting, speaking both English and Japanese in the game. This option is available depending on whether players choose English or Japanese as their primary language setting, a detail that reflects her mixed heritage, having been raised in the United States.

Finally, Arc System Works has assured players who enjoy customizing their rosters that the game will support automatically generated team names. Fans can look forward to some amusing and unconventional team designations for their assembled heroes.

*Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls*, a dynamic tag-fighter, is scheduled for release on August 6th for both PC and PS5 platforms.
