Martin McDonagh, the acclaimed writer-director behind generational films such as ‘In Bruges,’ ‘Seven Psychopaths,’ ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,’ and most recently ‘The Banshees of Inisherin,’ is set to release his next highly anticipated project.
Titled ‘Wild Horse Nine,’ this dramatic comedy will premiere this November, featuring a stellar cast including Sam Rockwell and John Malkovich in leading roles, with support from Steve Buscemi, Parker Posey, and Tom Waits.
While the official synopsis provides a glimpse, early indications suggest ‘Wild Horse Nine’ will carry McDonagh’s signature brilliantly witty style, promising another special cinematic experience.
The official synopsis reveals: “Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup d’état, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are dispatched from Santiago to Easter Island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi). Amidst the island’s iconic statues, and as the long-time partners grapple with their dark pasts and ongoing conspiracies, Chris’s new connection with a pair of rebellious students (Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas) threatens to derail everyone’s journey to this remote paradise.”
The first trailer for ‘Wild Horse Nine’ has also been released, and the film is scheduled to premiere on November 6.
