Samson: Creative Director Addresses “Unacceptable” Game-Breaking Bugs and Performance Issues

Recent impressions of Samson highlighted a generally disappointing experience, largely due to a multitude of bugs and performance glitches impacting gameplay. As players flocked to Liquid Swords’ debut title, many encountered similar issues, prompting a response from Creative Director Christopher Sundberg in a Steam blog post.

Sundberg’s statement explicitly labels the game’s current state as “unacceptable,” assuring players that the development team is diligently working on fixes for “game-breaking bugs and performance issues.”

He further stated, “We are committed to the future of Samson and Tyndalston, and this game will evolve over time across all aspects: quality, gameplay, and content. Thank you for your support and for being with us on this super exciting launch day. We will continue to listen and enhance the game with your help.”

Regarding immediate improvements, several key changes are planned. These include addressing crashes, progression-related problems, adding more save slots, and other enhancements. The detailed list follows:

  • Multiple performance fixes focusing on PSO-related issues.
  • Several crash fixes related to audio, animation, and GPU.
  • Multiple fixes for mission and progression-related problems.
  • Several gameplay-related issue corrections.
  • Various updates for general polish across different game areas.
  • Added ability to save up to 8 save files.

Further enhancements will target performance, gameplay mechanics, animation issues, and overall polish. The initial patch is scheduled for April 10th and aims to address numerous areas.
