Steven Yeun on Future MCU Appearances: "Never Say Never"

It was a near-miss for Marvel fans to see a different Sentry in Marvel’s Thunderbolts, as Steven Yeun was initially considered for the role. However, Yeun had to step away, leading to Lewis Pullman ultimately taking on the part of Bob/Sentry.

Speaking with MovieWeb, Yeun revealed that he has seen Thunderbolts* and isn’t ruling out another MCU debut. “I love Jake, Jake Schreier, incredible human director. I actually [saw it] and I never say never to anything. I’m around.”

Yeun’s Invincible co-star, Gillian Jacobs, suggested she might have an idea for a role he could play if he is indeed keen on a part in the MCU. “I actually have a pitch. You know that comic book, Dakota North? It was a short-run Marvel comic book. I think it would make a fantastic TV show,” she stated. “However, they’ll have me. I don’t know. It’s just that I discovered this comic book and I just think it’s such a visually awesome world. It’s such a fun character. So I’ve always loved Dakota North. Awesome!”

Yeun remains booked and busy, voicing one of today’s most talked-about superheroes in the animated series Invincible. While there’s a live-action project in the works for Robert Kirkman’s superhero comic, it seems Yeun deems himself too old to portray Mark outside of animation. The door, however, remains open for numerous other superhero roles.
