For fans eager for more adventures in the Upside Down, Netflix has just released a brand new trailer for ‘Tales from ’85,’ the upcoming animated spin-off. This ambitious project aims to expand the beloved Stranger Things universe in an exciting new format.
The series is set during the winter of 1985, placing its narrative squarely between the events of seasons two and three. It returns to a snowy Hawkins, where something sinister once again lurks in the shadows. Viewers will be reacquainted with Eleven, Mike, Dustin, and the rest of the familiar gang, alongside the introduction of several new faces set to spice up the storyline.
The most striking change, of course, is the visual style. Instead of live-action, Netflix is opting for animation this time, drawing heavy inspiration from the iconic 1980s aesthetic that the original series so masterfully captured. The trailer suggests a somewhat playful and lighthearted tone, promising a blend of adventure, mystery, and, naturally, plenty of monsters. Behind the scenes, the Duffer Brothers remain involved as executive producers, with Eric Robles directing the project.
‘Stranger Things: Tales from ’85’ is scheduled to premiere on April 24.
