Netflix is set to unleash “Apex,” a highly anticipated action and survival film, this April. This gripping movie will feature Charlize Theron in a role that pushes her to her absolute limits.
The film tells the story of Sasha, an adrenaline junkie who ventures into the remote Australian wilderness with the goal of conquering a particularly perilous river. However, her daring plans quickly descend into a nightmare when a maniacal character, chillingly portrayed by Taron Egerton, emerges from the shadows. He embarks on a relentless hunt, pursuing Sasha purely for sport.
Egerton’s performance in “Apex” is said to be strongly reminiscent of James McAvoy’s memorable portrayal of “The Beast” in the films “Split” and “Glass,” promising an intense and unsettling antagonist.
The official synopsis further teases the high stakes: “Testing her limits in the isolated and unforgiving Australian wilderness, Sasha (Charlize Theron) suddenly finds herself not only battling the elements but also a ruthless and deadly predator (Taron Egerton).”
“Apex” is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix starting April 24th.
