Spanish indie developer Teku Studios, acclaimed for “Candle: The Power Of The Flame” and the more recent “The Stone of Madness,” announced yesterday afternoon via social media that it would be closing its doors after 14 years of operation. However, in a positive turn, while this marks the end of the Teku Studios brand, none of its dedicated team members will be losing their jobs within the video game industry.
The entire Teku Studios team is set to join The Game Kitchen, the Spanish studio and publisher with whom they collaborated on “The Stone of Madness,” and who are renowned as the creators of the “Blasphemous” series. This integration means Teku’s talent and valuable indie development experience will now contribute to new ventures under The Game Kitchen’s umbrella.
In their official statement, Teku Studios expressed:
“IMPORTANT MESSAGE: After 14 years of hard work, the Teku Studios adventure comes to an end today. But this is just the beginning of something new! We are now joining the @TheGameKitchen family. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us since our humble beginnings. We worked side-by-side to bring something as complex as The Stone of Madness to fruition, and now another great adventure awaits us. Our spirit and energy are stronger than ever! Thank you for everything, from the bottom of our hearts.”
In these challenging times for many studios, this transition offers a promising future for the talented individuals involved. We extend our best wishes for success in their new journey.
