The Odyssey film by Christopher Nolan will be under three hours.

While Christopher Nolan is often associated with lengthy cinematic experiences, his filmography doesn’t exclusively feature three-hour epics. For instance, his recent work, “Oppenheimer,” surpassed the three-hour mark, but his upcoming project, “The Odyssey,” is set to be shorter.

Emma Thomas, Nolan’s wife and producer, confirmed to Deadline that “The Odyssey” will clock in at less than three hours. She noted that the precise runtime is still being finalized as the film is in its post-production phase.

“The Odyssey” is slated for a July release and recently had its premiere at CinemaCon, where it received favorable early reviews. Deadline has drawn comparisons to classic Hollywood epics like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “The Bridge on the River Kwai.” With Nolan’s recent box-office success and Oscar wins for “Oppenheimer,” anticipation for “The Odyssey” is extremely high.

Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” Film to be Under Three Hours

Christopher Nolan might be renowned for his lengthy films, but his filmography isn’t exclusively comprised of three-hour sagas. For example, “Oppenheimer” recently crossed the three-hour threshold, but “The Odyssey” will not reach that length.

As confirmed by Emma Thomas, Nolan’s wife and producer, to Deadline, “The Odyssey” will have a runtime of less than three hours. Currently, Emma Thomas is not entirely certain of the film’s exact duration, as the team is still in the post-production stage.

“The Odyssey” is scheduled for a July release and made its debut at CinemaCon this week. Deadline appears to have a positive outlook on the film, drawing parallels to traditional Hollywood epics such as “Lawrence of Arabia” and “The Bridge on the River Kwai.” We will have to judge for ourselves later in the year, but expectations are very high following Nolan’s last success, which was a major box-office hit and garnered multiple Oscars.
