The March community update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II has been released, providing players with details on upcoming content, an impending new roadmap, and a comprehensive response to the widely criticized voice pack DLC.
The upcoming Patch 13 will notably focus on enhancing the game’s Siege mode. Developers Saber and Focus aim to make this game mode faster and more intense. This update will also introduce additional purchasable items and implement rewards for engaging with Siege mode.
Other planned additions include a new PvE mission, expanded customization options for the Techmarine class, three new heroic weapon variants, an additional weapon, and further personalization features, such as the Iron Hands chapter pack. Regarding the game’s development trajectory, a completely new roadmap is slated for release in April. This decision stems from the acknowledgment that the “current one is no longer faithful to reality,” suggesting potential adjustments or delays to previously announced content. The specifics of these changes will be revealed next month.
Game Director Dmitriy Grigorenko addressed the controversial voice pack DLC, explaining its original design intent and candidly acknowledging that it fell short of player expectations. He stated that significant improvements are planned, including an option to disable the replacement of level-specific missing voice lines with generic Ultramarine voices. Furthermore, the voice pack will be expanded to include PvP content, addressing another key player complaint.
