YouTube Escalates Ad Strategy with Unskippable 90-Second Clips

The YouTube platform is increasingly inundated with advertising. According to several reports, the company has begun broadcasting 90-second ads for free users. The worst part is that these ads are now impossible to skip. Indeed, one must endure ninety seconds of forced advertising.

While it was previously possible to click to skip an ad after a few moments, this option has disappeared. Users are forced to stare at the screen, much like watching an old-fashioned linear television channel.

This is not the first time YouTube has tested the patience of its users. Faced with the proliferation of ad blockers, Google seems intent on intensifying its pressure. The objective is clear: to make the free experience so tedious and unusable that a Premium subscription becomes an attractive, even necessary, option.

Have you encountered these 90-second ads yet?
