During tonight’s Galaxies Showcase, developer Far From Home finally announced the release window for their acclaimed survival game, Forever Skies, on Xbox. Players won’t have to wait long, as the game is set to launch on its next major platform in Summer 2026.
The accompanying trailer offers a glimpse into the gameplay of Forever Skies. The game thrusts players into a hostile Earth, where a global catastrophe has rendered most of the atmosphere toxic to humans. Your mission is to traverse above this hazardous atmosphere, utilizing your airship as a mobile base to scavenge resources from the few remaining structures. Despite its seemingly grim premise, the experience in Forever Skies is designed to be engaging and enjoyable, particularly when played cooperatively with friends, soaring through the skies in your custom vessels.
The Xbox release of Forever Skies will also coincide with the arrival of the ‘The Final Echoes’ update, also slated for this summer. This marks the third and final part of the ‘Echoes’ series, with previous installments having launched in October and December of last year. This concluding update promises to introduce new side quests, additional difficulty levels, fresh dangers and threats, and a wealth of other content that will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
