Starfield PS5 Performance Issues Lead to Refund Demands

Recently, PlayStation 5 owners were able to embark on an interstellar journey with Bethesda’s latest role-playing game, Starfield. While some players have thoroughly enjoyed their PS5 experience with the title, others have found it unplayable, with many reporting severe performance issues.

A discussion thread on Reddit, highlighted by Eurogamer, reveals widespread dissatisfaction among PS5 users regarding Starfield’s performance. Players on both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro models are encountering problems such as crashes, freezing, and save file corruption, rendering the game unplayable for some.

“I can’t even land on planets or do anything other than sit in my ship before the game crashes,” one player stated. Another expressed their frustration, saying, “I’ve contacted their tech support, left a message, and submitted a ticket. I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting steps, and this is the only game I own that freezes this constantly. I feel seriously ripped off. I want to play it because I like what I’ve been able to play, but it’s genuinely trash.”

Currently, a common workaround for Starfield’s performance issues on PS5 involves disabling auto-saves. However, it’s important to note that this solution does not work for everyone. It’s also worth mentioning that many players are not experiencing these bugs, and our own reviewer, Alberto Garrido, reported playing for approximately six hours without any interruptions.
