Why the AC Black Flag Remake Must Be a Success

The cat is out of the bag: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag – Resynced has finally been officially unveiled! Ubisoft is bringing back the beloved pirate adventure in the brand-new Anvil engine, promising true stealth, new story chapters, fresh shanties, and even monkeys and cats for our Jackdaw!

But will a polished graphical overhaul be enough to impress us today? And will Ubisoft dare to address old weaknesses, such as the unchallenging ‘one-click’ combat system or the empty open-world islands?

In our discussion, host Lea, AC hardcore fan Dimi, and our confessed pirate hater Micha analyze the 30-minute gameplay reveal. We explore why the original is often viewed through rose-tinted nostalgic glasses, why the omission of the Abstergo present is dividing the community, and why the fate of all of Ubisoft might rest on this single remake. Set sail, sing a shanty, and join the discussion in the comments: What absolutely MUST the remake deliver in your opinion?
