Disney Removes Over a Dozen Games from Steam
Disney has chosen to remove more than ten of its games from the Steam store. While not many were likely anticipating the video game “Bolt” to grace their wishlists, fans hoping to snag Disney movie-related titles on Steam will unfortunately be disappointed, as the company has withdrawn 15 games from the PC platform. Even though the PC is considered a hub for preserving older games, this doesn’t prevent forgotten titles and games from a bygone era from disappearing.
As spotted by Polygon, the 15 games that are no longer available on Valve’s storefront are:
- High School Musical 3
- Brave: The Video Game
- Bolt
- Disney’s Treasure Planet: Battle of Procyon
- Disney’s Alice in Wonderland
- Chicken Little
- Tangled
- G-Force
- Disney Universe
- Disney Princess: My Fairytale Adventure
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
- Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier

Some of these titles, such as “Outlaws” and “Star Wars: Dark Forces,” are likely vanishing because there are shiny remasters people can play instead. For the others, it’s suspected their removal is due to licensing issues. Older games based on films or shows are a bit trickier to preserve because of licensing. Most of the games listed above were created back when physical releases were still the primary way to buy games, so if you have an old Xbox or PlayStation, you might look into finding these games on another platform.
