Insidious: Out of the Further – A Frightening Addition to the Expanded Universe
The universe of “Insidious” continues to expand. Later this year, a new chapter in the wider narrative will arrive in theaters, as the more standalone film “Insidious: Out of the Further” will premiere, aiming to scare moviegoers out of their seats.
The film, set to premiere on August 21st, tells the story of a young mother who realizes she can travel into The Further, the twisted realm at the center of the “Insidious” universe. The plot is described as follows:
“In ‘Insidious: Out of the Further,’ Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house where she grew up, who discovers she can travel into The Further – the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe. When a demon targets her, Gemma finds herself with a game-changing ability: she can not only enter The Further, but she can also bring what lives there back into the real world. As demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.”
“Insidious: Out of the Further” is directed by Jacob Chase, from a screenplay also written by Chase, with a cast that includes not only Eve but also Brandon Perea and Lin Shaye, who reprises her role as Elise Rainier.
