Alix Wilton Regan, the actress bringing Lara Croft to life, is deeply committed to her role. Beyond vocal performance, she actively participates in motion capture. During a demanding action scene, Regan experienced an accidental jaw dislocation.
“The hardest part was holding back at times because I give my all in every scene. I even punched myself in the face the other day,” Regan shared with GamesRadar+.
The incident occurred just hours into a recording session. Regan’s injury proved more severe than initially apparent.
“I was about to throw a punch, and as I was going for a hook, I literally caught my jaw on my own arm, and it dislocated. It popped right out of its socket… Anyway, I’m okay. It’s happened before, but everyone on Zoom was like, ‘Oh, crap, we’ve killed Lara.’ So, we had to pause recording for 20 minutes for me to get my jaw back in place and apply an ice pack. It was pretty intense.”
Regan recalled speaking to the project’s executive, who inquired about her injury and offered little more than a brief acknowledgment. Despite this dramatic incident, production was able to continue without significant interruption.
