Samara Weaving: The Dedicated Gamer Who Travels With Her PS5

Actress Samara Weaving, recognized for her roles in popular films like “Ready or Not,” “Borderline,” “Scream VI,” and “Over Your Dead Body,” has revealed her unusual travel habit: she takes her PlayStation 5 with her on all her filming assignments.

“For all my shoots, I pack my PS5 in my suitcase, which is completely insane. It takes up half the suitcase and no one can lift it,” Weaving shared with Polygon. She explained that she brings it along to any location so she can play games whenever the opportunity arises. For a role where she portrayed a race car driver, she even transported racing simulation equipment, including a steering wheel and pedals.

Weaving admits that when she’s immersed in a game, she sometimes declines social invitations. “They’d say, ‘Hey, do you want to go out for dinner?’ And I’d reply, ‘No, I’m playing Assassin’s Creed.'”

Her lifelong passion for video games began in her school days, when she would visit a friend every day who owned a PlayStation. “I practically lived there one whole summer, to the point where our parents thought we were in love with each other, which I would have been fine with,” Weaving stated.

She expressed gratitude to this friend, whose access to video games at school served as a significant gateway for many of their gaming experiences.
