While many have praised the more grounded Star Wars narratives, such as Andor, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Mandalorian, and more are expected in the future, this doesn’t mean the more mystical, Force-centric stories will be abandoned.
In an interview with SFX Magazine, director Jon Favreau shared his perspective on how Ahsoka will be instrumental in keeping the Force alive within the Star Wars galaxy. He explained:
“Anyone who’s seen the sequels knows there’s a First Order coming, like, 20 years from where we are now in the narrative. And then Ahsoka season 2 is coming out – which I’ve seen all of – and that’s definitely more in relation to a greater [picture], a higher level.
“It’s about the officers and we’re the stormtroopers – here it’s more of a ground-level experience of what’s going on. You see the backdrop – which, by the way, is what the first Star Wars started out with.”
Essentially, it appears there will be room for both types of storytelling moving forward, hopefully ensuring a Star Wars experience for everyone.
