Beyond Good & Evil 2 Still Alive: Ubisoft Posts Numerous Senior Specialist Roles

While it might sound pessimistic, a recent inquiry about Beyond Good & Evil 2 would have likely yielded a response anticipating a quiet cancellation from Ubisoft, a company that has faced considerable difficulties lately. However, the opposite is true.

Fawzi Mesmar, Creative Director for Beyond Good & Evil 2 at Ubisoft Montpellier, shared a message today encouraging developers to apply for a variety of open positions within the studio to contribute to the project. These are not entry-level roles but rather senior positions such as Senior Gameplay Animator, Level Design Technical Director, Gameplay Animation Director, Experienced Real-Time VFX Artist, Senior Network Programmer, Senior Technical Sound Designer, Character Team Lead, and Senior Game Designer. These mid-to-senior level roles could potentially be filled by experienced professionals who have recently been laid off from other companies. If this describes your situation, or if you possess the necessary skills, you can explore the vacancies and apply here.

It is indeed surprising that a project with such a significant financial investment and presumably a considerable amount of development time still ahead continues to receive corporate backing. It appears that, against expectations, we might actually see BG&E2 in the future.
