Just one week after Xbox’s new head, Asha Sharma, stated that Game Pass was too expensive, Microsoft has acted on these words. Sharma, who has made several pronouncements since replacing Phil Spencer, has now overseen a substantial price decrease for Game Pass Ultimate, effective today.
This is not a minor adjustment. Game Pass Ultimate’s monthly subscription has been reduced from $29.99 to $22.99. Similarly, PC Game Pass sees its price drop from $16.49 to $13.99 per month.
However, there’s a notable caveat to this good news. It has also been revealed that, as of this year, Call of Duty games will no longer be available on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at their launch. Instead, they will be added to both Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass a full year after their initial release.
Will this price cut encourage you to subscribe to Game Pass? And what are your thoughts on Call of Duty titles arriving on the service a year post-launch?
