Donald Glover: “I Really Think Something Is Going to Happen Soon With the Community Movie”

In the television series Community, the character Abed famously declared that the show he believed himself to be a part of would last ‘six seasons and a movie.’ It seems Abed, being somewhat of a genius, might just see his wish fulfilled. The TV series indeed ran for six seasons, and a movie has long been promised and is now officially in development.

That said, updates on the film have been scarce for a considerable time, with the project facing consistent delays despite all principal cast members confirming their willingness to return. However, Donald Glover, arguably one of the busiest members of the ensemble, recently offered a promising update via Entertainment Tonight, suggesting that progress is finally being made:

“We’re working on it right now. I know everyone has been saying that for a long time, but I swear I’m not lying about this. I really think something is going to happen soon.”

Glover also mentioned that the group frequently communicates, noting a significant amount of discussion surrounding the project at this moment. Despite this positive news, fans will likely still need to exercise patience as they await further concrete announcements.
