2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships: Records Set & Full Medal Table
The 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships recently concluded in Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland. This significant event took place just one year after the Nanjing championships, which had been postponed from 2020 to 2025 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Typically, these indoor championships are held every two years, alternating with the outdoor competition. The last outdoor event was held in Tokyo, and the next is scheduled for Beijing in September 2027.
The championships featured a total of 674 athletes representing 118 federations, competing across 26 exciting athletics events. The competition wrapped up on Sunday, March 22, marked by several outstanding performances and record-breaking achievements. Two new championship records were established: Keely Hodgkinson dominated the 800m with an impressive time of 1:55.30, a performance second only to her own world record set just last month. Team USA also set a new championship record in the 4x400m relay, clocking an impressive 3:01.52. Additionally, Devynne Charlton delivered a stunning performance in the 60m hurdles, equaling the world record with a blistering time of 7.65 seconds.
