Christopher Judge, the Actor Behind Kratos, Calls for More Respect for Video Game Writers
Christopher Judge, the actor who brought Kratos to life in the 2018 game "God of War" and its 2022 sequel, "God of War: Ragnarök," has expressed a desire for video game writers and developers to receive the recognition and respect they deserve.
During an appearance at FanExpo, Judge questioned why adaptations often overlook the individuals involved in the original games, particularly when these adaptations aim for precise, shot-for-shot faithfulness.
A fan, responding to a Dexerto post on X/Twitter, elaborated on Judge's sentiment, suggesting that while some might interpret his remarks as a personal desire to reprise the role of Kratos, his message is a broader endorsement of developers and creators across the entire video game industry.
Judge himself took to social media to clarify his stance, emphasizing his wish for greater respect for game developers during this era of adaptations.
"My main point was about our writers and developers," Judge wrote. "I really want them to get the love and respect they deserve. I hope for all the writers and developers of the games that we love. Not to disrespect the writers of TV and film. I have worked with some of the best on Stargate."
He also acknowledged that he is likely too old to portray Kratos in a live-action series at this time. However, he expressed his hope that Amazon will find someone as dedicated and "awesome" as Ryan Hurst, who is being replaced due to injury.
