Tomb Raider: Catalyst Release Window Narrowed Down
While Lara Croft's return is anticipated next year with the release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis on PC, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series S/X on February 12th, it's clear Ms. Croft has even grander ambitions. A brand-new adventure, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, is also in development.
Previously slated for a 2028 release, recent information from Embracer Group's quarterly report provides a more refined estimate for its launch. According to the report:
"Embracer Group has published its interim report for the first quarter of the 2026/27 fiscal year, confirming a release window for Tomb Raider Catalyst. According to the report, Crystal Dynamics' next mainline Tomb Raider game is slated for release during fiscal year 2027/28. As Embracer's financial year runs from April 1st to March 31st, this places Catalyst's projected release window between April 1st, 2027, and March 31st, 2028."
In simpler terms, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is expected to launch between April 1st, 2027, and March 31st, 2028. Assuming a release within the calendar year 2028, this suggests the game will arrive in one of the last nine months of that year.
Originally, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was set for a 2026 release. However, factors such as the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI and the forthcoming television series likely prompted Amazon Game Studios to adjust its plans. Consequently, Tomb Raider: Catalyst was pushed back a year, and we now have a clearer understanding of its potential launch period.
