According to MP1st, casting calls for "God of War" Season 2 are seeking teenage iterations of "Joshua" and "Ruth," which are believed to be codenames for Atreus and Thrud, respectively. This suggests that Callum Vinson and Island Austin, initially cast in these roles for the first season, are unlikely to reprise them.
This potential casting shift implies that the first season of the series will likely adapt the events of "God of War (2018)," with Season 2 jumping forward to the timeline of "God of War: Ragnarök." The significant age progression of Atreus between these games is a key narrative element that the series appears poised to replicate.
