Broken Sword: Smoking Mirror - Reforged Kickstarter Launched and Funded in Just 15 Minutes
Following the successful 4K remake of Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars last year, Revolution Software has launched a Kickstarter campaign for another remastered classic: Broken Sword: Smoking Mirror: Reforged. The campaign, which began today with a goal of £50,000 (approximately €57,000), aims to bring the second game in the beloved series up to modern standards.
The fan response has been overwhelmingly positive. The initial funding target was met in a remarkable 15 minutes. As of now, the campaign has surpassed its goal by nearly 700%. Notably, a significant number of backers have opted for the highest contribution tier, which includes a lavish collector's edition packed with physical extras, such as the game's soundtrack on vinyl, all personally signed by Charles Cecil himself.
In response to the swift and enthusiastic support, Charles Cecil expressed his gratitude to the fans. He conveyed his intention to continue remastering the series' titles to meet current quality standards, hinting at the possibility of a future Broken Sword 6. Cecil stated:
"Thank you so much for the extraordinary support you've shown us for this project in such a short time. It's an immense privilege that you place so much trust in us.
Your passion for our games makes us truly proud. We promise to reward you with truly awesome games, now and in the future."
