Madrid is set to host its inaugural Formula 1 race on the still-under-construction Madring circuit, as part of the Spanish Grand Prix from September 11th to 13th. However, two months prior, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, fresh off his recent victory at the British Grand Prix, became the very first driver to complete full laps of the circuit in an F1 car.

Ferrari has released footage and videos from a filming session on the Madrid street circuit, which combines public roads with permanent track sections (including the renowned "Monumental" banked corner). Leclerc was the inaugural F1 driver to navigate this 20-corner circuit in a Formula 1 car. Notably, Carlos Sainz had previously driven a Ford Mustang on a portion of the track during a media event in May.

While this was not a serious, professional testing session (and was subject to limitations such as mileage and the use of promotional Pirelli tires), it still provided Leclerc and Ferrari with valuable initial insights into the circuit. We eagerly await the full video of Charles Leclerc's Madrid testing session, which was kept confidential from the media. In the meantime, their official channels are sharing plenty of images and short clips of the new circuit, which will be buzzing with excitement in just two months.
