DC Dedicates Summer Entirely to Supergirl with New Comic Book
DC is making a substantial effort to highlight Supergirl this summer, building anticipation for her upcoming cinematic debut in the DC Universe. This robust promotional drive follows the recent announcements of “Supergirl: The World” and the Elseworlds project “Supergirl: Survive,” now complemented by a new, more optimistic comic series.
Dubbed "Summer of Supergirl," this special 48-page one-shot comic will feature a trio of compelling stories designed to illuminate Kara Zor-El's enduring legacy within the DC Universe. The narratives are crafted by renowned writer-artist duos: Sophie Campbell with Belen Ortega, Mark Waid with Cian Tormey, and Gail Simone with Emma Kubert. Readers can look forward to the first story pitting Supergirl against Lobo, while the subsequent two will celebrate her journey as she reclaims her rightful place as the heir of El.
This exciting new comic is scheduled for release on June 24. DC has also hinted at more "Summer of Supergirl" announcements on the horizon, promising an action-packed season for fans of the Kryptonian hero.
