Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis to Shut Down in October

July 9, 2026Carlos Mendoza1 мин

Square Enix has announced that the online mobile version of Final Fantasy VII is coming to an end. Launched a few years ago on Android and iOS, and shortly after on PC, it has been confirmed that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will cease operations very soon, with the game scheduled for shutdown in October.

The service end date for the game is set for October 7th (for European players) at 7 AM BST / 8 AM CEST. In anticipation of this closure, several in-game elements have already been disabled.

It has been stated that Red Crystals (the paid premium currency) are no longer available for purchase. However, players can still spend any Red Crystals they currently possess until the shutdown date. Regarding players dissatisfied with this decision and seeking refunds for purchased Red Crystals, Square Enix appears to be offering refunds only to residents of Taiwan.

In relation to this closure, Square Enix stated: "Since the launch of the App Store and Google Play versions on September 7, 2023, and the Steam version on December 6, 2023, we have strived to provide the best possible experience for our players. However, after careful consideration, we have determined that it would be difficult to continue in this manner and have made the decision to end service."
