Jennifer English Nearly Forgot to Audition for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

While the British actress is currently garnering immense praise for her portrayal of Maelle in Sandfall Interactive's upcoming title, she recently disclosed a surprisingly relatable detail: even a busy professional like herself can sometimes forget crucial tasks.
Indeed, during a conversation with Radio Times Gaming, English confessed that she very nearly missed the audition for the role of Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, simply because it had slipped her mind. Fortunately, since the role only required a voice recording, she managed to complete the audition from the comfort of her bed at two in the morning.
English candidly shared, "I'll just record it on my bed at 2 AM, which is exactly what happened with Expedition 33 because I forgot to do it. Don't be like me. Yes, usually last minute and late."
The audition process for other roles, however, can be significantly more involved. Some productions demand both voice work and motion capture, and English recounted instances where she had to film herself from the knees up to secure a part. Actors might also receive specific scenes or lines in advance, requiring them to deliver a performance that showcases their understanding and embodiment of the character. It truly underscores the multifaceted nature of the acting profession.
