Kylian Mbappé: "100% Recovered" from Knee Injury, Dismisses "False Things"
Kylian Mbappé has rejoined his French national teammates, called up by Didier Deschamps for a series of friendly matches scheduled to take place this week in the United States against Brazil and Colombia on March 26 and 29. Deschamps selected Mbappé despite the forward having only played two matches as a substitute for Real Madrid last week, marking his return from a prolonged absence due to a knee injury. However, the 27-year-old attacker has now assured fans that his knee is healing well and that he is "100%" recovered from his knee issues.
"My knee is doing well. It's getting better and better. It's progressing quite well, and I know there's been a lot of speculation about it and false things have been said," Mbappé stated. "That's the life of a high-level athlete, and we're used to people saying things without verifying them or without them being founded."
Mbappé famously sought a second opinion in Paris to address his knee problems, which stemmed from a knock he sustained in December 2023. He now confirms that he has made a full recovery. "I had the opportunity in Paris to get a good diagnosis. And together, we were able to develop a plan to return to my best level with Real Madrid and also for the World Cup."
Addressing concerns about potential conflicts with Real Madrid regarding his call-up to the French national team, Mbappé emphasized that for him, there is no debate. "I've seen people talk about the World Cup. I've played in two World Cups. I won one, and in the other, I reached the final. How did I prepare for the World Cups? By playing every match with my club." He further clarified that it is "crystal clear that I want to play every match with Real Madrid."
