Marvel TV Head Wants "X-Men '97" to Last 10 Seasons
Marvel has significant aspirations for the animated series "X-Men '97." Brad Winderbaum, who was recently promoted to lead Marvel's Television, Animation, Comics, and Franchises departments, has stated his desire for the show to continue for 10 seasons.
This ambition was revealed by executive producers Larry Houston and Eric Lewald in an interview with POC Culture. They elaborated that Winderbaum is keen on seeing the series return to Disney+ for the next eight years, a plan that extends well beyond the initial intention to match the five seasons of the original 1990s show.
Houston explained the initial goals, saying, "Well, I know they're going to try to match that, you know, I did five seasons [for the original series]. I'm going to try to do at least five. That seems to be the goal. I mean, at least they've verbally confirmed there will be four. So, I'm pushing for five."
Lewald continued the discussion, adding, "Brad [Winderbaum] is chomping at the bit and you know he wants to do ten, and we want him to do ten. We want in eight years from now, we want to be having discussions like this about season 10. With 60 years of comics and all these characters... there's really no ceiling."
Do you think five seasons of "X-Men '97" are enough, or would you like to see it run for ten seasons? Currently, the second season of the series has been released, and future seasons are expected to arrive at a more rapid pace.
